At our Annual Seminar each year, we present seven awards — the Miriam (Mimi) Goldman Positive Achievement Award, the Trooper Christopher Scales Memorial Award, the Jill Schulman Community Pillar Award, the Irene Parisi Humanitarian Award, the James and Sarah Brady Award for Public Service, the Silvio O. Conte Award for Public Awareness and Education, and the Founders Award for Volunteer Service

Jill Schulman Community Pillar Award

The Jill Schulman Community Pillar Award recognizes individuals, working in the brain injury field, who significantly contribute to the quality of life for people with brain injury and their caregivers and promote brain health through their volunteer service and support of the mission of the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey. Irene Parisi Humanitarian Award

The Irene Parisi Humanitarian Award recognizes individuals who embody the ethics of kindness and benevolence in accepting people for who they are and working to abolish biased social views and prejudice. More...

James and Sarah Brady Award for Public Service

The James and Sarah Brady award is presented to an individual or group for public service based on an outstanding record of contributions that further the goals of the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey through work at the state and/or local level.

Silvio O. Conte Award for Public Awareness

The Silvio O. Conte Award is presented to an individual or group for public awareness and education based on an outstanding record of contributions that further the goals of the Alliance through work at the state and/or local level.

Founders Award for Volunteer Service

The Founders Award is presented to recognize individuals or groups who have rendered exceptional volunteer services that benefit persons with brain injury and their families.

In March, we take the opportunity at our Annual Gala to bestow Leadership Awards to individuals whose leadership helps to advance the quality of life of people affected by brain injury. More...

Make a Nomination

The Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey seeks nominations annually for the awards listed below. The James and Sarah Brady Award, Founders Award, and Silvio O. Conte Award—were established by the Brain Injury Association of America. The Mimi Goldman Positive Achievement Award, Trooper Christopher Scales Memorial Award, the Jill Schulman Community Pillar Award and the Irene Parisi Humanitarian Award were established by the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey.

All awards will be presented at our Annual Seminar held in May. Descriptions and guidelines of all awards are listed below. To nominate someone, please complete our Award Nomination Form. Nominations are reviewed and award recipients are selected by the Alliance’s Awards Committee. The deadline for nominations is April 1st.
