Brain Injury Basics

brain-quadrantsPeggy earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Temple University and has over 20 years’ experience working in the field of brain injury.

Since 2006, Peggy has been the presenter for the new Brain Injury Basics sessions in hospitals and rehabilitation facilities throughout the state.

Peggy DiTommaso is a longtime friend of the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey, selflessly volunteering her time for over 20 years as the support group leader for the Monmouth County support group.

Peggy is currently a school social worker for Lawrenceville Township Public Schools, and presents Brain Injury Basics and Adjustment to Brain Injury throughout the state for the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey.

 

 

Brain Injury Basics provides an overview and information on:

  • Brain injury, including definitions and the rate of incidence
  • Effects of brain injury on families, including the stages of grief family members experience
  • Cognitive, physical, and emotional consequences of brain injury
  • Strategies, tips and available resources families and caregivers can utilize.
