One issue area CHIC has addressed, is interacting with police officers and other first responders. Some may be concerned that first responders may interpret symptoms of brain injury for other questionable, and perhaps problematic behavior.
In an effort to inform police officers and other first responders that one has sustained a brain injury, one may wish to consider carrying an identification card:
Other resources include:
- – Download the Brain Injury Association of Georgia’s identification card
- – Purchase a photo identification card from Handle With Love TBI
- – Download a printable card
- – Trymunity Survivor wallet card
Cards could be placed behind a drivers license, or in an easily accessible area when presenting a first responder with identification.
