“A Legacy of Hope:  Celebrating Survivors and Their Stories”

2025 Honorees

Jacob George

15-Year Survivor

Jacob George was a vibrant and healthy child who loved outdoor activities, enjoyed playing baseball, and was an active member of the Cub Scouts. Jacob was known for his determination and empathetic heart. He enjoyed outdoor adventures with his dad, often playfully complaining about activities like skiing and biking, showing his spirited personality.

At the age of seven, Jacob sustained a severe traumatic brain injury during a Halloween hayride accident. In the blink of an eye, everything changed dramatically for the entire family. The brain stem injury left Jacob quadriplegic, unable to see, speak, eat, or communicate independently, requiring round-the-clock medical care.

Despite his disabilities, Jacob remains a happy person who loves social interactions. Jacob continues to inspire those around him with his smile, embodying love, hope, and compassion. His family believes that his presence reminds them to appreciate life’s blessings and find strength in challenging circumstances.

Jacob attends an adult day program and receives therapies.  He enjoys music, swimming, being outside and spending time with family.

Jacob, now 24 years old, resides with his parents, George and Jaya, and two brothers, Davis and Daniel in Bloomsbury, NJ.
